ball handling drills. The key is to increase your speed and proficiency.
WILBA Drills #1 - Week #2
Drill #2: Five minute shooting - this drill improves footwork, shooting and conditioning. If done properly you
1st Minute - You begin under the basket with your back to the basket. Toss the ball out to about 9-10' (2 metres)from the basket, let it bounce
2nd Minute - same as before but catch the ball a little further from the basket.
3rd Minute - same as before but no shoot from as far out as your shooting range will allow
4th Minute - move back to around 12-15' (4-5 metres)
5th Minute - move back to original shooting range. You will be tire but it is good to finish on a positive note making shots close to basket.
1) make sure you back is to basket when you catch the ball and then make strong pivot

Drill #2: Five minute shooting - this drill improves footwork, shooting and conditioning. If done properly you
will be tired at the end of the drill.
Divide the drill into 5 - 1 minute segments.
1st Minute - You begin under the basket with your back to the basket. Toss the ball out to about 9-10' (2 metres)from the basket, let it bounce
and then catch with your back to basket. Once you secure the ball with two hands, execute a strong pivot so you are facing the
basket, in ready-to-shoot form. Take a shot using proper BEEF (Balance, Elbow straight, Eyes on the target, Follow through)
technique. If you miss, rebound the shot and score a lay-up.
Then continue as previous,. catching the ball with back to basket, strong pivot and follow shot.
2nd Minute - same as before but catch the ball a little further from the basket.
3rd Minute - same as before but no shoot from as far out as your shooting range will allow
4th Minute - move back to around 12-15' (4-5 metres)

A few pointers
1) make sure you back is to basket when you catch the ball and then make strong pivot
2) Rebound every miss with a put-back
3) You can keep score with 2 points for every made jump shot and i point for every rebound
